About the Agniveer (Army) exam

Recruitment into the Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme for a four-year term, across General Duty, Technical, Clerk/Store Keeper and Tradesman categories.

Eligibility

  • Age: 17½ to 21 years.
  • Education: Agniveer GD — Class 10 with 45%; Technical — 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English (50% aggregate, 40% each); Clerk/Store Keeper — 10+2 with 50%; Tradesman — Class 8/10 as specified.
  • Physical standards (height, chest, weight) and medical fitness as per Army norms.

Exam pattern & selection

  1. Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)
    Objective MCQ test (subjects and length vary by category — e.g. 50 questions in 1 hour for GD). 0.25 negative marking.
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Physical Measurement
    1.6 km run, pull-ups, and physical measurements as per category norms.
  3. Medical Examination
    Detailed medical fitness check, followed by the merit list.

Selection: Online CEE → Physical Fitness & Measurement Test → Medical Examination → merit list.
